CAREERS

Wisdom, told with care and integrity, can open hearts and change lives.

Wisdom, shared with care

Wholehearted is building a body of work that honors the wisdom of great teachers and helps people understand themselves, connect more fully, and through that process, support healing and growth.

We work with respected voices in trauma, addiction, and mental health to share their life’s work in ways that are useful and accessible. It started as a side project among friends and turned into an organization shaped by passion, trust, and relationships.

OPEN POSITIONS

Marketing Lead

Help us shape and lead our marketing. Clarify our message, use what we already have, and build thoughtful systems that help more people discover what we’ve created.

Social Media Manager

We’re looking for someone with strong experience, sound judgment, and clear communication to grow and engage an audience with intention and integrity.

Graphic Designer / Artist

Wholehearted values great graphic design and art. We're looking to hire multiple artists and designers.

“I can’t say Wholehearted is my life’s purpose. But my closest friends and people I love helped build this with me. And most days feel like a reunion, not work. That’s close enough for me.”
– AJ Foxx, Founder

What It Feels Like To Work here

We’re a team. Everyone’s contribution connects to something larger and complex. We support each other, take risks, embrace failure, and share success. We are not competitive. We learn and grow together.

Collaborative by nature

Wholehearted is collaborative. From the way we develop ideas, to how we produce and refine each program, it is a shared process. The work is shaped by conversation, curiosity, and willingness to fail and keep trying. Every program, every asset, every event is something we create together.

Production

A big part of what we do is produce live masterclasses. These are not ordinary shoots. They are collaborations with experts to bring their life’s work to the stage. We produce and record as a team. We design the entire experience, from the space to the set, to the technical production. It is creative, hands-on work and when it all comes together, it becomes something we can be proud to share.

What's In It For You

We’ve tried to make Wholehearted a good place to work. You will have your own space, a comfortable environment, good snacks, and a supportive team. But more than that, this is a place where you can bring your whole self, learn and grow, and be part of something that might change you for the better, because that is what it does for the rest of us.

How to know if you are a good fit

Wholehearted is not an assembly line. This is not just a job. It’s a home for creative, thoughtful, and caring people. If you want to be part of a team that values trust, collaboration, and openness, you may be a good fit here. If you are only looking for a paycheck or a remote gig, this is not the place for you.

Internships

We never set out to offer internships, but students keep asking, and we are open to it. If you want to learn about real-world production, publishing, editing, or creative teamwork in a hands-on way, and you care about the kind of work we do, we would be happy to hear from you.

I don't see a job opening that fits

If you do not see a job opening that fits, but you have skills or ideas that could help us, we would want to hear from you. Whether it is a new role, a new idea, or something we could be doing better, do not wait for a posting. Reach out and tell us.

We produce video programs, books, and live events with trusted voices in trauma, addiction, healing, and personal growth. Day to day, that means writing, editing, design, video production, animation, sound, photography, marketing, social media, community work, and all the tasks required to run a small, active creative team.

We are not a client service company. We are self-funded. No one hires us or pays us to create our programs. We choose our projects, our collaborators, and how we work. This allows us to focus on quality, honesty, and usefulness as we define it. We do the best work we can manage, and we treat our team and partners well. In short, we do what we want, on our terms and timeline.

Yes. Some of our team are full-time, some are part-time, some work on contract, depending on their skills and availability. We care about finding the right people and building around them. We do not have mindless positions that require checkbox qualifications.

Most of our work happens in person, at our office and on production shoots. We believe working together in person makes the work stronger and the team healthier. Some work can be done remotely when it makes sense, but if you are looking for a remote job, this is not the right fit.

We do not run on a strict schedule. Some people work early, some later. What matters is having enough overlap for collaboration. The key is trust and good judgment. We are flexible. The key is reciprocity: if you prioritize Wholehearted, Wholehearted will prioritize you. As a team we decided to work Tuesday to Friday, so that every week has a three-day weekend.

Yes. We do not believe in free work. Interns are paid for their time and treated as part of the team. We do not offer formal internship programs right now, but we are open to ideas if you have one. We accept volunteer work too, but that is up to you.

Not really. People here wear multiple hats and contribute in many ways. We care more about how you think, work, and collaborate than about what is printed on your business card.

Creative thinkers. People who can dream big and then break it into steps that get things done. People who balance vision with practical action. Strong organization and communication. Flexibility. The ability to work on short-term needs while building toward long-term goals.

Talent combined with good judgment. What does that look like? It looks like having a great idea and the skill to pull it off. It looks like setting a clear goal, then working backward to map out the steps to get there. It looks like building in time and space for things to change along the way, and knowing you will need to adjust when new challenges appear.

This is not just what helps people thrive here. It helps anywhere in life.

Utilizing the simplest tools, like a notepad. Write things down: to-do’s, process notes, reminders, ideas, specs, priorities. It is amazing how much clarity a written list can bring. Small victories lead to success.

We do well with people who care about what they do. Who are creative, curious, and emotionally open. Who want to contribute and learn. Who value integrity and team spirit. If you are looking for a place where your voice is heard and where you can actively contribute, this might be for you.

Clock punchers, coasters, and slackers, please apply elsewhere. People who just need a paycheck and want to find the easiest work available, Wholehearted is not the place for you. Someone that sees Wholehearted as a short-term stepping stone to something else, that is not fair to us. People who are seeking remote and unaccountable work, we do not have any positions for you.

People who struggle to collaborate, take feedback poorly, or stir up conflict. People who bring an "all about me" attitude. This is a team. Compromise and mutual aid are foundational here.

If you have serious unresolved issues, feel the need to tell others how to address you, need to get your way to feel validated, or bring strong ideological pressure that affects the team, you will not do well here. But we do offer programs that can help you.

Wholehearted is not a vessel for imposing a worldview on others. We are supportive and gentle when things come up, but it is important that your values and interests already align with what we do and how we do it.

We are not rigid. But to be able to dance together, it helps to start on the right foot with music we are both into.

It depends on the role, but it usually starts with a written introduction. We want to understand your experience, your work style, and your values. You will need to submit:

  • A strong, personally written cover letter. Not AI generated. Not to show off or convince us you are a descendant of Shakespeare. Just to show you can communicate clearly about yourself, why you think you would be a good fit, and to start a conversation. (We’ve also received and enjoyed comic strips, video, and other alternatives to a written letter.) It does not have to be poetry or perfection. It just needs to be real.
  • Your resume, portfolio, and a short note explaining what you are sharing and why it matters.

If we feel a connection, we may ask you to complete a short, custom questionnaire. If that looks promising, we will set up an initial 15-minute conversation to do a pulse check. If that goes well, you will be invited for a full conversation and interview with our founder and team lead, AJ.

Yes. If you have skills, ideas, or experience you think could help us, we want to hear from you. Tell us who you are, what you do, and how you think you could contribute.
