Behind The Beat is a powerful special featuring Jeff Stine, a retired police officer and founder of CoverNowFund.org. In this deeply personal and gut wrenching talk, Jeff shares the emotional toll of life behind the badge. From his first trauma call as a young officer to the silent suffering that nearly ended his life, Jeff brings us into a world few have the courage to speak about.
With clarity and courage, he recounts moments of heartbreak, loss, and the quiet despair that builds when pain is buried too deep for too long. His story is not told to shock, but to reveal the truth about what first responders absorb and carry. Jeff survived what many do not, and he chose to turn his pain into purpose.
He now leads Cover Now, a nonprofit offering confidential mental health care and emergency support for officers and their families. This special is part testimony, part invitation. It is a call to feel, to understand, and to act.
ABOUT COVER NOW
Cover Now is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing confidential mental health therapy and financial support to law enforcement officers and their families who have suffered job-related trauma. Recognizing that officers experience significantly more traumatic events than the average person, Cover Now aims to address the mental health challenges that can lead to negative outcomes, including suicide—the leading cause of death among police officers in the U.S.
The organization offers services such as confidential trauma therapy and financial relief to officers struggling with post-traumatic stress and mental health issues. These efforts help officers and their families rebuild their lives and support injured officers in returning to their vital work of protecting communities.
