In Cover Now, retired Southern California police officer Jeff Stine invites us into a candid and heartfelt conversation about the mental health crisis facing first responders, specifically police officers. Drawing from his own experiences and the loss of a fellow officer to suicide, Jeff sheds light on the silent struggles that many in law enforcement endure.

This powerful Wholehearted.org special isn’t about taking sides; it’s about acknowledging the human beings behind the badges. Jeff’s mission is a call to compassion, urging us to recognize the emotional burdens carried by those who are tasked to protect us and the dire consequences of neglecting their mental well-being.

Wholehearted.org is committed to fostering understanding and healing across all walks of life. By sharing Jeff’s story, we aim to break the silence surrounding mental health in law enforcement and advocate for a culture where seeking help is seen as a strength, not a weakness.

As Jeff poignantly states, “The number one killer of police officers in America is themselves”, and “A mentally healthy cop is a good cop.” This talk serves as a powerful reminder that behind every uniform is a person deserving of care, support, and compassion.

Join us in this essential conversation. Together, we can ensure that those who serve and protect are themselves protected and supported.

ABOUT COVER NOW

Cover Now is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing confidential mental health therapy and financial support to law enforcement officers and their families who have suffered job-related trauma. Recognizing that officers experience significantly more traumatic events than the average person, Cover Now aims to address the mental health challenges that can lead to negative outcomes, including suicide—the leading cause of death among police officers in the U.S.

The organization offers services such as confidential trauma therapy and financial relief to officers struggling with post-traumatic stress and mental health issues. These efforts help officers and their families rebuild their lives and support injured officers in returning to their vital work of protecting communities.
